Track Name: Overstayed
It's fine
you slip another toe across the line
with revelations cryptic and divine
it's in the asking
in the basking in the afterglow of summertime

A smile, and a blush
Once more time has made fools out of all of us
And in the spaces hides a question
A suggestion about deserts, and of trains

[Chorus]
By the by
By the pricking of the finger
In the unrepentant symphony of days
In the meantime
In those long sweet summer days
Shimmering amid the summer haze

I'll miss you.....

It's in the changing of the wind
It's in the smiles of the Gods
Who stand tall petrified and gray
It's in the breaking of the waves won't STOP
Eating time away

It's in the laughter of the girls
Who play among the bones
Of rough beasts who have foundered on the shore
Whose young and fabled acolytes explore
The long and darkened corridors
That wend beneath the depths beneath the way

[Chorus]

I'll miss you .... but my welcome is overstayed

In the morning, the light is thin and gray
Something wrong about the clouds, something wrong about the falling of the rain
In the distance, something begins to change
The stars .... are fading out
The stars .... are fading out
The stars .... are fading out
Track Name: Rock, Paper, Schism!
And we set sail
On a good ship, bound for open waters
And unleashed hell, we unleashed hell
We sailed too fast, we sailed to proud, we carried off
With the wrong men's daughters
The good ship fell, the good ship fell

[Chorus]
(And now it's) Rock, paper, schism!
Embrace the new religion
Because paper crushes rock in the
new music bureaucracy!

So we signed up
For the something something infantry
The world would quake before our yell
We marched beside a band of strangers cloaked in mediocrity
But we fought well, we fought well

We walked this noble nation far and wide
Searching for a prophet, or a pay check, or a guide
But neither currency nor wisdom did we find

[Chorus]

And we set out, neath a blue moon at the witching hour
The world would fall beneath our spell
The ground split wide and deep, under magic's power
And tolled the bell, and tolled the bell

And Atlas shrugged and the world fell down
And our band let loose with a noble sound
The strangers groaned and fell to the ground

and we cried out
yes we cried out
Is there anybody here that we can rely on? (x4)

Then the cannons ushered forth With a terrible thunder
The ground would split, would open wide
A robed figure ushered forth A world rent asunder
The dawn spilt golden 'oer the hills (x3)

(And now it's) Rock, paper, schism!
Embrace the new religion
Because paper crushes rock (x3)
in the new music bureaucracy!
Track Name: Captain America
This is it
This is what you've been waiting for
And it's all the you expected
But still you reminisce
About the people and crowds that you ran with before
Latched onto the rhyme
And abandoned the reason
Speak truth unto fire and say it again

[Chorus]
I gotta girl
She's beautiful and gloomy
And she cries and she cries as she walks at the door
Other times
The spirit doesn't move me
And time flies, and time flies and we're aching for more
Reaching up for the stars
And come on down for the hero's welcome
And captain america will have his revenge

Bit by bit
Turn by turn of this satellite
Like a drunken ballerina she pirouettes and twirls through the fire light
A moth to the flame
a horse unto water
Like lambs to the slaughter we do it again

[Chorus]
[Interlude]

Woke up late
Uninspired and blue
When you opened your mouth and the words rang out true
It moved you to sing and the notes were in tune
Had the time of your life
Free from anger and sorrow
Then wake up tomorrow and do it again

I gotta girl
She's beautiful and gloomy
And she cries and she cries as she walks at the door
Other times
The spirit doesn't move me
And time flies, and time flies and we're aching for more
Reaching up for the stars
And come on down for the hero's welcome
And captain america will have his revenge

I gotta girl
She's beautiful and gloomy
And she cries and she cries as she walks at the door
Other times
The spirit doesn't move me
And time flies, and time flies and we're aching for more
As long as I've got a guitar
I'll plug it in
And I'll sing to the stars
And Captain america will have his revenge
Track Name: Making Time w/ New Media
Your beloved institutions
Held the new attitude til your bandwidth ran dry
Questioning the divine right of kings
But you found no home, not in reason nor rhyme
Found no purchase for the schemes you had planned
And now you're making time with new media (time with new media)

So you lapsed your subscriptions, prescribed for the scribe you
imagined you'd been
And embraced the new face of our civil decline
And it's the passage of time that is eating ya
Sequestered yourself within castles of sand
And now you're making time with new media (time with new media)

Now the saints that sang your praises curse your name
Warped the Intertwining melodies of each shimmering refrain
And your infamy and shame find you dancIng upon the graves of our imaginary saviors,
punch the cart, drain the bottle, turn a phrase
Face the mirror and remember better days

With the best of intentions
With a nod to the fertile persistence of change
And all the trials were rigged to be lengthy and tedious
Though the evidence points to a lifetime of crime
And now you're making time with new media (time with new media)

Time's got some kind of problem
Making time won't stop
Track Name: Fifth of Courage
Why, why?
Why'd you pass me by?
With a coin in your pocket and a gleam in your eye
I saw you ... slipping away

how, how?
How'd you put me down?
The other shoe was dropping and it wedged in the door
and then you ... la dee da

I got to drinkin'
I got to thinkin'
That to keep you satisfied
I'd have to play the devil's game I'd have to take it inside
I got my ticket to ride, my heart is thumpin
I got a fifth of courage and a gleam in my eye
I got ten dollars riding on my date of expiration, and its
Coming any day

Return, return
You'll know just where to find me,
by the burning of the city
The dust returns to dust
And the ashes to the ashes
and they fall upon my shoulders and
Collect all in your lashes

Sing, sing
Sing a little ditty
For the dying of the city
They're dancing in the streets
The drums of war provide the beats
But the melody is drifting away....

[Chorus]

Tell us a tale
Spin us a fable
The one where the passion lights the city ablaze
It's a long walk from here back to civilization
And the lights are always calling my name

Ashes and embers fall around us
And the end is drawing near
Just one phrase that keeps repeating in my mind
This happened .... we mattered .... we were here

This happened
We mattered
We are here
